Durodent Model Seal Separating Solution 1L
- Brand: Durodent
- Product Code: DMS-1
Durodent Model Seal Separating Solution
IMROVED FORMULA - Increased stability
Separating solution is painted on to form a separating barrier between the plaster and acrylic in the flask. Sodium Alginate based separating solution works by a chemical reaction to the stone.
Correct Application Procedure: Hot Model Seal
- Completely remove wax residue, grease and dirt from the plaster model and plaster surfaces to be separated.
- Then on a hot-warm dry model apply a liberal coat of separator with a clean soft brush.
- Immediately after carefully rinse off any excess separating solution under running water and allow the model to drain and air dry until a satin gloss finish has formed on the surface
- If applying a second coat, this must be done before the first coat dries.
- Wash the used brush and dispose of the remaining separating agent.
Tip: If it is flaking or peeling, material has been applied to thick or not removed before it has dried.
Applications:
- Gypsum to acrylic
- Gypsum to composite
- On all gypsum materials
- For heat curing and self (cold) curing acrylics
Important information:
- Applying on a hot model accelerates infiltration and drying of the separating agent.
- If applying a second coat the first layer of separating agent should not be completely dried before the second layer is applied. If so, this can result in white discolouration on the acrylic surface. The second coat should only be a light application and be rinsed liked the first coat.
- Never empty remaining separating agent back into the original container or immerse the used brush in the bottle. This results in contamination and consequently degradation of the separating solution.
DO NOT STORE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT OR HOT AREA
Must be stored at no more than 25° in dark area (Heat Sensitive). Product may lose red colour due to light.
Use with in 6 months
**** Please be aware Separating Solutions are affected by heat exposure or UV exposure which will cause them to loose their properties. Product must be stored in a cool dark place and should be decantered into small bottle to use in the working area. If the solution has gone watery (no longer slimy or slightly thick) then it will no longer work as the natural alginate material has broken down due to elements.
