Your normal local tap water generally can have some dirt, rust, lime and other minerals in the water. Some areas / suburbs can be much worse than others depending how your local water is treated, old pipes etc. All steam cleaners are highly sensitive to bad quality water which causes internal part wear and damage as it heats and cools water, minerals get separated which can clog or block valves as they build up inside. You can descale and clean the Renfert units easily with Renfert Power Steamer Descaler Solution 18450100 1L. Damage to units caused by poor water quality, dirt, mineral contamination is not cover by manufacturer warranty **
